I am Nancy Ajram, a registered Psychologist. I was born and raised in Boston and describe myself as a ‘Bostonian-Muslim’ who navigates life through wearing many hats, including; motherhood, employment, and family. My passion is to help people make positive changes to live a happier and healthier life so that they can do more of what matters.
Much of my experience has involved working with adults, and I have had the privilege to work in different settings including; Family Harm/Domestic Abuse, Corrections (Criminogenic and Alcohol and other drug counselling and support programmes), Primary Healthcare (Advance Health Improvement Practitioner providing support for people with concerns about mental health, addiction, long-term conditions and general well-being support), and a team member on the National Telehealth Service providing mental health support.
In addition, I have experience in the facilitation of Dialectical Behaviour and Cognitive Behaviour based groups (DBT/CBT) teaching skills linked to better distress tolerance, emotional regulation, interpersonal effectiveness and mindfulness. Along with supporting clients, I provide clinical supervision to practitioners to help them grow and develop themselves and their own practice.
If you are new to therapy, and even if you are not, sharing some of life’s most difficult challenges with a practitioner can be a bit scary, but this is normal! That being said, my aim as a compassionate practitioner is to create a safe space for you in which you feel seen, valued and heard. A safe space where you can be yourself without judgment and be provided with strategies to help you overcome challenges to reach your full potential.
